LG&E Penalty Payment

Order Entered: 1. The Stipulation is adopted and approved in its entirety as a complete resolution of all issues in this case. 2. LG&E is assessed a civil penalty of $7,500.00. 3. LG&E shall pay the amount of $7,500.00 within 30 days of the date of this Order by cashier's check or money order made payable to the Kentucky State Treasurer and mailed to be delivered to the Office of General Counsel, Public Service Commission, 211 Sower Boulevard, P. 0. Box 615, Frankfort, KY 40602. 4. Upon the payment of $7,500.00 by LG&E, this case shall be closed and removed from the Commission's docket without further Order by the Commission.

Order Entered: The Commission, having considered LG&E's request and finding good cause, HEREBY ORDERS that the hearing currently scheduled in this case for January 29, 2014, is cancelled.

LG&E Motion to Cancel Hearing

Order Entered: 1. LG&E's motion to dismiss is denied. 2. LG&E's motion to suspend the formal hearing in this matter is denied, without prejudice. 3. LG&E's motion for an informal conference is granted. 4. An informal conference shall be held in this matter on Friday, January 17, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, in Conference Room 1 of the Commission's offices at 211 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky.

Louisville Gas & Electric Company's Response to PSC's Order of October 24, 2013 and Motion to Suspend Hearing and Schedule Informal Conference

Order Entered: 1. LG&E shall submit to the Commission, within 20 days of the date of this Order, a written response to the allegations contained in the Report. 2. LG&E shall appear on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, in Hearing Room 1 of the Commission's offices at 211 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky, for the purpose of presenting evidence concerning the alleged violations of KRS 278.042, from the most recent edition of the National Electrical Safety Code, LG&E's Safety Manual, and showing cause why it should not be subject to the penalties prescribed in KRS 278.990(1) for these alleged violations. 3. At the scheduled hearing in this matter, LG&E shall also present evidence on the adequacy, safety, and reasonableness of its practices related to the construction, installation, and repair of electric facilities as they relate to the facts of this case and whether such practices require revision as related to this incident. 4. The January 29, 2014 hearing shall be recorded by videotape only. 5. The Report in Appendix A is made a part of the record in this case. 6. Any requests for an informal conference with Commission Staff shall be set forth in writing and filed with the Commission within 20 days of the date of this Order.
